The Maronite Patriarchal Seminary is a major seminary, it is concerned with the formation of the Maronite diocesan clergy under the supervision of a Bishop appointed by the Maronite Patriarch. It is managed by a rector who is chosen from among the diocesan priests and who is assisted by a team of priests.

The Seminary seeks to prepare students for the priestly ministry and provide them with a suitable education in which human, spiritual, intellectual, and pastoral formation have complementary dimensions that make of them the ministers of Christ and His Church.

The Seminary receives its students from the Maronite dioceses all over Lebanon, the Levant, and the diaspora countries, as well as from some parishes of the Eastern Catholic Churches.
